Oakville’s Largest Rock’n Roll Party has created an important nexus of business supporting community. This event has developed into a meaningful way for members of the business community, entertainers and merchants to be highlighted as integral to, and supporters of all that is great about living in Oakville. Over the past five years, the culmination of our efforts, supported by Oakville and surrounding businesses, has generated for our community, over $53,000.00 in essential financial support. Beneficiaries have included the Cruisers Sports for the Physically Disabled; Wellspring of Oakville and other cancer related causes; The Rocks for Crops Foundation – as a demonstration of values that go beyond our borders; the REACH Legacy Fund of Oakville, the Reach Out Centre for Kids; and in 2009 the Sunshine Foundation Dreams for Kids. On November 7th, Oakville’s Largest Rock’n Roll Party proved to be a huge success. With a new venue at OE Banquet Hall, guests enjoyed dancing to live entertainment and camaraderie. As a consequence, they were able to donate over $7,000 to the Sunshine Foundation Dreams for Kids. Sunshine makes dreams come true for children challenged by severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses. Sunshine receives no government funding and relies upon the generosity of individuals, organizations, and the success of many special fundraising events. To learn more about Sunshine and the impact of a Sunshine Dream upon the life of a child with special challenges, visit www.sunshine.ca. The event organizers would like to thank each and every person and organization that participated in this year’s event. Of special mention is the esteemed support received from Knar Jewellery as sponsor of the 007 themed Diamond Heist.
