<p><strong>Oakville, Ontario, </strong><strong>November 10, 2010:</strong> Sandy Smeenk, Executive Director of the ICL Foundation; organizer of the <strong>7th Annual Oakville Largest Rock’nRoll Party</strong> wishes to thank all guests, media, local and surrounding businesses and residents, the volunteers; everyone, who have once again contributed to the success of raising 10,000 for this year’s beneficiary – <strong>The Kerr Street Children’s Dream Centre and Food Bank.</strong></p>
<p>Live entertainment provided by Oakville’s own “Kings“ and Grand Blvd packed the dance floor at the OE Banquet Hall on Speers Road. Generous portions of tasty appetizers provided by local businesses including <strong>Montfort Mediterranean Cuisine, Julia&#8217;s Ristorante, Chocolates by Bernard Callebaut, Paradiso, Monastery Bakery &amp; Deli, Sushi Hour, Starbucks, South St. Burger, Tag Vodka</strong> were nothing but amazing!</p>
<p>We are looking forward to our 8<sup>th</sup> Annual on Saturday, November 5, 2011, which will be bigger and better than ever…</p>
<p><strong>WE NEED YOUR VOTES</strong> &#8211; Pepsi Canada Refresh Project has since approved Oakville’s Largest Rock’n Roll Party and The ILC Foundation to receive a grant of $100,000.00 subject to winning the most votes.</p>

<h2><span style="font-weight: normal; font-size: 13px;">The seventh annual Oakville’s Largest Rock ‘n Roll Party will attract hundreds of guests to party and dance —  and they’ll be doing it for a cause.</span></h2>
<p>This year’s event will raise funds for the Kerr Street Ministries (KSM) Dream Centre, which provides educational programs and food security for children and their families in Oakville and Halton.</p>
<p>The party will take place on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the International Union of Operating Engineers Banquet Hall on Speers   Road.</p>
<p><span id="more-306"></span>Guests will be able to dance to their favourite classics of the 70s and 80s played by a live band. There will be door prizes, a silent auction and food tasting stations provided by local businesses.</p>
<p>The music will be performed by Oakville’s own The Kings, who will do renditions of Glide, This Beat Goes On and  more.</p>
<p>Tasting stations are provided by Montfort Mediterranean Cuisine, Julia&#8217;s Ristorante, Chocolates by Bernard Callebaut, Paradiso, Monastery Bakery &amp; Deli, Sushi Hour, Starbucks Coffee Canada, South St. Burger, Tag Vodka and more.</p>
<p>Over the past six years the event has been sold out and has raised more than $65,000 to support the Oakville community. Past beneficiaries have included Cruisers Sports for the Physically Disabled, Wellspring of Oakville, The Rocks for Crops Foundation, Reach Legacy Fund of Oakville, Reach Out Centre for Kids and the Sunshine Foundation Dreams for Kids.</p>
<p>The event organizers work on a 100 per cent volunteer basis and handle the event co-ordination and fundraising. Product donations, services and time is provided by local businesses and residents and all proceeds go to the charity.</p>
<p>This year’s recipient, KSM, provides services such as a music instruction rooms, instructional kitchen, a food bank, computer lab for literacy training; a youth centre for after school programs and a gymnasium for sports education and fitness.</p>

<p><span id="more-299"></span>This year’s recipient, the KSM Dream Centre is designed to provide educational programs and food security for youth and families in need throughout the Halton Region. The combined efforts of individuals, foundations, schools, clubs, churches and local businesses in the Oakville area are making this dream a reality!</p>
<p>This annual event has proven to be a huge success with sold out venues, supported by over 600 guests &amp; supporters from one year to the next.  Over the past six years, <strong>Oakville&#8217;s Largest Rock&#8217;n Roll Party</strong> supported by Oakville &amp; surrounding businesses, has generated donations over $54,000.00 in essential financial support for the community.  Beneficiaries have included Cruisers Sports for the Physically Disabled; Wellspring of Oakville and other cancer related causes; The Rocks for Crops Foundation; REACH Legacy Fund of Oakville; Reach Out Centre for Kids; and Sunshine Foundation Dreams for Kids.</p>
<p>Our own local OLRRC committee personally handle all of the fund-raising and event co-ordination on a 100% volunteer basis with generous donations of time and product from Oakville and area businesses and residents. &#8230;and all proceeds are donated to the selected charity!</p>

<p><span id="more-295"></span>Oakville’s Largest Rock’n Roll Party has become an important nexus of business and community supporting various charity organizations that enrich and support the lives of those in need.  This annual gala event is the first weekend in November, and we hope that you will accept our invitation to be a part of it on Saturday, November 6, 2010.</p>
<p>Our party provides live entertainment (this year’s featured act is <strong><em>The Kings</em></strong>), dancing, silent auction, prizes, food and beverage tasting stations and plenty of special activities and attractions.  There is a theme each year, this time ‘round it’s <em>“Rock of the 80’s”.</em> This will be our 2<sup>nd</sup> event at the OE Banquet Hall on Speers Rd., after 5 very successful years at the 707 Galaxy Club.  Our volunteer committee works very hard to put together the best possible show we can, and we’re proud to say they get bigger and better every year!  Since 2004, the culmination of our efforts supported by Oakville &amp; surrounding businesses has generated over $54,000 in essential financial support.  Beneficiaries have included <em>Cruisers Sports for the Physically Disabled; Wellspring of Oakville </em>and other cancer related causes<em>; The Rocks for Crops Foundation; REACH Legacy Fund of Oakville; Reach Out Centre for Kids; </em>and<em> Sunshine Foundation Dreams for Kids</em>.</p>

This event has developed into a meaningful way for members of the business community, entertainers and merchants to be highlighted as integral to, and supporters of all that is great about living in Oakville. Over the past five years, the culmination of our efforts, supported by Oakville and surrounding businesses, has generated for our community, over $53,000.00 in essential financial support. Beneficiaries have included the Cruisers Sports for the Physically Disabled; Wellspring of Oakville and other cancer related causes; The Rocks for Crops Foundation &#8211; as a demonstration of values that go beyond our borders; the REACH Legacy Fund of Oakville, the Reach Out Centre for Kids; and in 2009 the Sunshine Foundation Dreams for Kids. <span id="more-185"></span>On November 7th, Oakville’s Largest Rock’n Roll Party proved to be a huge success. With a new venue at OE Banquet Hall, guests enjoyed dancing to live entertainment and camaraderie. As a consequence, they were able to donate over $7,000 to the Sunshine Foundation Dreams for Kids. Sunshine makes dreams come true for children challenged by severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses. Sunshine receives no government funding and relies upon the generosity of individuals, organizations, and the success of many special fundraising events. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In the spirit of a culmination of business meeting community, this year&#8217;s sold out &#8220;Oakville’s Largest Rock’n Roll Party&#8221; raised $10,000.00 for The Reach Out Centre for Kids (ROCK). They&#8217;re proud to have received such amazing support and would like to thank each and every person and organization that participated in this year’s event. Of special mention is the wonderful support received from the Service Charities Council of Oakville, where they graciously helped out by distributing door hangers, selling tickets to members &amp; friends, and underwriting certain media print costs. <span id="more-127"></span>As an organization, there mission is in bringing together dedicated groups of volunteers united under the Service Charities Council of Oakville (SCCO) in partnership with a dynamic and supportive community. This alliance enables a collective focus, strengthening the Council in order to develop / support fundraising projects to the benefit of our community&#8221;. When considering charitable organizations to support, The Reach Out Centre for Kids provides a sense of cohesiveness as we all work to build a strong community As an organization that supports families with children 0 to 18, they are the largest children’s and adolescent mental health centre in Halton. They provide a multi-disciplinary approach to the assessment and treatment of children and families in difficulty. All programs and services are offered free of charge, which is made possible through the generosity of so many individuals, organizations and the success of many fundraising events.
